Humming Bird, a #seaglassfineart piece is handcrafted using genuine blue, aqua and green tiny seaglass picked at Cape Breton beach last summer, and flowers are made from semiprecious stones chips- red agates, malachite, turquoise, lepiz lazulli and green jade. Making this miniature piece felt like making jewelry, so I dared to add french bouliion wire too.
Tiniest birds barely 2-3 inches long, their beak is proportionately longer. They thrive on floral nectar, with red flowers being their favourite. Interestingly they have no sense of smell, but very sharp vision and brilliant memory. They remember each flower they have visited and can estimate how much time that flower will take to replenish its nector. I find this fact mind-blowing.
Borders are painted in the Indian miniature art form inspired by Ustad Mansoor.
