Motif: Ajrakh is a 4500 year old craft of block printing using natural dyes that originated in Indus Valley Civilization in what is today parts of Sindh( Pakistan), Kutch ( border) and Gujarat( India). In this scarf I have used gutta and silk dyes to replicate the Ajrakh motifs.
Painted with colorful and vibrant d Beyond the gutta limited motifs, I let the dyes flow free across the silk to create unique patterns.
Steam fixed. Colors are fast. Will last your lifetime if used with tender loving care.
They are one of a kind piece. As they are neither AI designed, nor mass produced, nor screen printed, you will not find another scarf of this design.
Variations in colors in different picture are due to light effects- clicked in white light, yellow light and sunlight.
Care instructions:
Gently hand wash with soap, rinse in cold water, and let dry naturally. Iron on silk setting - do not twist or rub. Do not dryclean if gutta is used.
PS: Allow us a few days after we recieve the order, so the edges can be hand rolled.
